Davis Bynum Chardonnay
December 31, 2017
Davis Bynum Chardonnay, 2013.
Purchased for $12.99 at Wine and Spirits on Gandy.
Enjoyed on New Year's Eve.
Lauren says, "Pee yellow color, almost green. Scent of oak, vanilla, grass, and lime. Initial sharp, oaky taste. Fairly smooth ending and aftertaste. Leaves a lingering butter flavor in my mouth, reminiscent of stale bread with butter. Might be slightly too yeasty for me. Not my favorite Chard, but I have had worse. 6/10."
Zach says, "This wine is piss-yellow in color. Nose is fragrant: caramel, Granny Smith apple, and toasted marshmallow. There is something metallic and unenjoyable that pervades this wine. Medium bodied, tart and mildly acidic. Buttery, short-lasting finish. Pungently oak element is disproportionate and unbalanced. 6/10."
Scott says, "Tastes like apples. 7/10."
