Gamble Family Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc
November 3, 2017
Gamble Family Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc, 2015.
Purchased for $11.99 at Wine and Spirits on Gandy.
Zach says, "Nose is overwhelmingly that of oaked Chardonnay with hint of kerosine. Taste is surprisingly enjoyable. Equivalently sweet and bitter. Not overly complex. Finish is smooth and sweet, reminiscent of honey. One of the few wines I’ve had that tastes better than it smells 7/10."
Lauren says, "Strong scent of melon and earth. Taste is surprisingly sweet at first, but then develops into a citrus flavor that is almost too sour and dry, resembling a strong grapefruit. However, the aftertaste is overall crisp and refreshing with slight minerality. I’m honestly not sure what to make of it, but it leaves the mouth dry. Complex for a Sauvignon Blanc (almost resembles a Chardonnay), but maybe not in a good way. Overall, not bad. 6/10."
