Il Fauno Red Blend
December 15, 2017

Il Fauno Red Blend, 2013.
This bottle was a gift from Zach's dad.
Zach says, "Nose of light cherry, asparagus, and earthy mushroom. Color is a dense, rich purple. Taste is smooth and balanced. Acidity and tannins are in delicate balance. After 2.5 hours of decanting, this wine is great for a nice gruyere. This wine serves as a symbol of my new found affinity for full bodied, rich reds. Merlot doesn’t go silently into the night. 7.5/10."
Lauren says, "Strong smell of blackberry and smoke. Moderate tannins. Medium bodied. Underlying plum flavor. Some earthiness and chocolate, too. Pairs nicely with Gruyere cheese. A little too dry for what I like. 6/10."
