Luna Vineyards Pinot Noir

Luna Vineyards Pinot Noir, 2012.
Purchased for $16.99 at Wine and Spirits on Gandy.
Enjoyed on a Friday night with caprese and Italian White Bean soup.
Zach says, “This wine is beautiful and fragrant. Pale garnet in color. The nose supplies your olfactory bulb with waves of cherry, strawberry, and aged cedar. Very crisp with a light-bodied mouthfeel. The finish features two characters vying for the spotlight: marvelous acidity and approachable tartness. These competing attributes give this wine a lasting, complex, and balanced finish. This wine’s nose and taste are also wondrously synchronized. Only lacks the complexity of higher rated wines. 8/10.”
Lauren says, “Appears a thin garnet color. Aroma of cedar bark, black cherry, and ethanol. Feels light-bodied, warming, and acidic upon first sip. Then, flavors of black pepper, spices, and blackberry. The taste resembles one of an older or aged wine. Some spiciness in the finish. Not much fruitiness (which is unusual for a Pinot noir in my opinion). Overall, refreshing and enjoyable with a spicy ending that grows on you. Also, an excellent deal for $16.99. Would be a good go-to bottle for any savory dish. 7.5/10.”
