Mer Soleil Chardonnay for a Second Time

December 24, 2017

Mer Soleil Chardonnay.
A gift from Ally and Matt.
Our last bottle on Christmas Eve.

Zach says, "Beautiful and crisp. Autumn in a glass. The wine is translucent and golden in color. Nose of Granny Smith apple, caramel, and crisp minerality. Taste is invigorating, like a brisk fall gale. Rich acidity is in perfect harmony with warm, rich oak. 9/10."
Lauren says, "Scent of Orange blossom, lemon, and fresh cut grass. Crisp. Medium bodied. Some oak. Very buttery and warming. Slight butterscotch and caramel flavors. Very nice and smooth. Probably my favorite chard so far even though the oaky aftertaste lingers. 8/10."
Ally says, "Oak and floral hints. Buttery to the taste. Fresh lemon and fruity- perhaps peach. Vibrant and ripe. Acidic with a lasting finish, toasted harmony. Pour me another glass. 7/10."
Matt says, "At first smell, slightly woody but not overly powerful by any means. That’s followed by a fruity smell with hints of apricot and citrus. Taste is fruity in the beginning with notes of apricot and citrus followed by an oak after taste that’s acidic but not overly acidic. Overall it’s very refreshing and would be able to drink more than one glass. 6/10."
