Mer Soleil Chardonnay
November 29, 2017
Mer Soleil Chardonnay, 2014.
Purchased at Redneck wines for $19.99. Tried with our guest star Mikayla.
Zach says, "Nose is complex and fresh. Notes of lemon zest, leather, grass and mineral. Taste is smooth and crisp with very little oak. After taste is warm and buttery. Very very good and unexpected. The best wine I have had in some time. So good I might Chard. 8/10."
Lauren says, "Aroma of melon and citrus. Crisp and sharp first taste, then buttery and smooth. Mildly sweet. Leaves an aftertaste of oak. Not bad for an oaked chard. Able to finish a glass and it is smooth and refreshing. 7.5/10."
Mikayla says, "In the case of Chardonnay, I would strongly recommend this wine. For an oaked chard it’s surprisingly smooth and doesn’t have a strong oaky flavor. It goes well with chocolate and is a nice compliment. It’s flavorful and buttery without being too strong, no noticeable fruit or flavors come to mind. On a chard scale, 8.5/10. Overall, 6/10."
