VGS Chardonnay
December 23, 2017
VGS Chardonnay.
Purchased for $39.99.
Enjoyed during a game night.
Zach says, "Nose of molasses, honey, and fine balsamic vinegar. Smooth, full bodied mouthfeel. Honey-like and moderately oaky, perhaps a touch too oaky and heavy for my liking. However, I love how this wine’s nose and taste are totally congruent! 5.5/10."
Lauren says, "Aroma of honey and sweet apple. Smooth and full-bodied. Mild oak hints. Sweet for a chard. Maybe a mild caramel flavor. 8/10."
Stacy says, "Deep golden color, quite substantial and elegant. Honey & caramel influence, well balanced and very smooth. 7.5/10."
Scott says, "Apricot, light, like it more the more I taste it. Dry finish, though. Not unlike the last wine we tried. Sweeter than last wine. 7/10."
Brad says, "Very strong syrupy texture. So much that it clogs your taste buds. Does not fit in the class of Chardonnay wine. Mild sweetness, alcohol taste is absent. Very yellow in color. Smooth, thick, and somewhat boring. 3.5/10."
Mikayla says, "Strong scent of honey liquor with a after-nose of cherry cordial. Smooth taste, sweet and cloying. Low oak flavor that doesn’t overwhelm the palate. Quite delicious and pleasant to taste. Another example of how Chardonnay is growing on me and that I might have been wrong about this varietal. 7.8/10."
