Lauren says, “Dark plum color. Aroma similar to a wine cellar mixed with a forest- maybe oak, cedar, pine needles, and soil. Heavy and full-bodied texture. Strong earthy flavors with a hint of smoke and mushroom. Tannins that leave your tongue dry but wanting more (due to balanced smooth acidity at the very end). Extremely herbaceous for a red. A lot of spice at the back of your throat. Unique and interesting with a nice complexity. I like it a lot more than I expected to. 8.5/10.”
Zach says, “With significant decanting, this wine is truly unique and enjoyable. At first, the nose can seem acerbic and uninviting. In time, however, this wine’s earthy, rich character is revealed. On the nose there are notes of fresh soil, cream de cassis, chlorine, and cedar. Mouthfeel is luscious, thick, and heavy. High alcohol content can be assumed. Taste is lovely and round. Flashy tannins are in harmony with mouthwatering acidity. Finish is long, pleasant, and nutty. This wine is concentrated and lavish - it feels for for a royalty. 9/10.”
