Las Gravas Jumilla Red Blend

Las Gravas Jumilla Red Blend, 2012.
Around $20.00.
Lauren says,"Deep purple color. Aroma reminiscent of an old wine cellar- there is an oaky, Smokey, and musty/dusty smell to this wine. Slight smell of strawberry jam and black cherry. Fairly strong tannins and medium bodied. Flavors of vanilla and cherry cola. I actually really enjoy this and am enchanted by its aroma. Rich and heavy- perfect for a steak and lobster meal. Reminds me of Infinito Red Blend. This is probably a Rioja. Maybe a Cabernet. It might be a little too tannic for me unless it opens up a little bit more. 7.5/10"
Zach says, "Color is garnet. The wine looks vicious. Nose is definitely unique, forward, and gamey. Notes of petroleum, acetone, and light strawberry. Taste is rich, medium to full bodied, and balanced. Not much fruit on the taste or nose. Nice, structured tannins give this wine delightful structure. While I think this wine would make a great pairing with rich, hearty dishes it is not my absolute favorite for tasting as an aperitif. I am guessing a very hot wine, old world (SPAIN). Vintage 2011 (I even know this guess is bullshit). 7/10"
