Zach says, “At first glance, the wine’s copious sediment is what stands out. Large crystalline chunks remain at the bottom of the glass. Nose is rather flat. Notes of wet stone, cherry, prune, mint, and aged oak. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Moderate acidity. Light tannin. Slight metallic taste really holds this wine back. Long bitter, fruity finish that leaves much to be desired. The mouthfeel, taste, and nose give the impression of a mediocre wine that has been aged out of its enjoyability. 5/10”
Lauren says, “Color appears rusty red. I smell earth, eucalyptus, hay, and cedar on the nose. Medium bodied. Flavors of black pepper, tea, and dried black berries. Moderate tannins and mild acidity. Not my favorite overall. Wants to be a unique, aged taste, but does not achieve or reach the standard. Instead leaves a long and unpleasant aftertaste. Drinkable enough. Lots of sediment. 5/10. Agree with Zach on metallic taste.”
