Zach says, “A few months ago, our server at Bern’s suggested a Petite Syrah as the perfect complement to our Chateaubriand — ever since, I have been hooked. This wine is the very embodiment of luxury. The color is a rich, concentrated purple. The wine looks ink-like in the glass. Potent, delicious nose — notes of pencil shavings, candied raspberry, and oak. Cream-like, smooth mouthfeel. The mine is euphoric on the palate. Super acidic and tart in perfect proportion to big, bold tannins. Quite literally the best value in wine (especially when it is on sale (BOGO) at Publix. The only negative is the lack of complexity and expressiveness on the nose. 9/10”
Lauren says, “Dark purple plum color with a magenta ring. Smells amazingly fruity with an ethanol bite when freshly poured. Aroma of smokey dark cherries, blackberries, and mild oak. Extremely tannic but in a nice way. Full bodied. Tart jammy undertones with black pepper spice. Thinking it will open up with some time to breathe. Very good though, alone and with a cheese tray. Spicey, rich, very tannic. Loving it though. 9/10.”
