Zach says, “Another recommendation from our girl, Andrea Immer. To be honest, I have no idea what this is supposed to taste like — I don’t even know what grape it’s made from. So, with this information we shall dive in and make an assessment free from the tethers of anticipation.
The color is cherry-red. The wine looks to be thin in the glass. Nose is rich and evocative. Nose of baking spice, oak, mocha, and fresh raspberry. Light-bodied mouthfeel. Highly acidic. Mild tannins linger for 30 seconds or more. Seems to be a pino noir grape aged in oak barrels. One of the better, less expensive French bottles I have consumed. Not exceptional, but decent for the price. Give it 25 minutes to breathe off some oakiness, and you will be rewarded! 8/10”
Lauren says, “Ruby red color. Aroma of oak, hay, and blackberries. Flavor of black tea, olives, and raspberries. Decent acidity and tannins. Interesting complexity. Needed about 30 minutes to open up. I surprisingly like it more than I thought. Decent price. 8/10.”
