G.D. Vajra Albe Barolo, 2010.
A gift from Brad and Lois! Thank you!
Lauren says, “Rust color. Aroma of dust, dried tea leaves, cherry and acetone. Medium bodied. Rich tannins and acidity. Tastes aged and reminiscent of an old wine cellar. Hints of tobacco, straw, black pepper, and eucalyptus. Intriguing overall. Goes well with steak. Truly a good wine. 8.5/10."
Zach says, “Color is amber with a salmon rim. Appears thin in the glass. Nose is precise and lovely. Develops beautifully in the decanter and in the glass. Peaks with 3 hours of aeration. Initially, the nose is tight and overwhelmingly acetone-like. In time, there are notes of licorice, maraschino cherry, espresso, and sea foam. Heavy bodied mouthfeel. Wondrously tannic. Mild acidity at the start provides balance, but the lengthy, tannic and cherry-mint finish is captivating. 8.5/10”
