Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore
July 20, 2019
Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore.
$10.99 at Costco.
Lauren says, “Pale yellow-green color. Aroma of apples, peach, and apricot. Mild, tiny effervescence. Nice acidity. Flavor of honeydew and a slight grapefruit ending. Relatively dry. An okay Prosecco. The bubbles don’t perform sadly. 6.7/10.”
Zach says, “Purchased this bottle at Costco for $10.99.
Color is clear yellow. Effervescence is unrefined - the bubbles are not uniform and medium in size. Nose is lacking in sophistication and precision for me. I get notes of cantaloupe, lime, and subtle, but unideal sweetness. I very much do not like the sweet aroma of this wine — it reminds me of the Pouilly-Fumé we had a few years ago. I do, however, like the way the wine tastes. Highly acidic and fresh like cold, crisp green apples. Overall, not my favorite of the less expensive sparkling wines. 6.5/10”
