Stag's Leap Petite Sirah, 2016.
Enjoyed as Mikayla's holiday gift!
Lauren says, “Extreme deep plum color. Full bodied. Rich aroma of ripe cherries, strawberries, and purple fruit. Large tannins with balanced acidity. Flavor of black pepper, plums, black berries, and black tea. Rich and heavy. Does need some time to open up but I like it a lot. 8.5/10.”
Zach says, “Very rich and purple in the glass. Super viscous. The nose at first is relatively tight, but opens beautifully. Extremely expressive on the nose. Over time, beautifully structured notes of vibrant candied cherry, oaky caramel, vanilla, and violets. Full bodied mouthfeel. Moderately tannic. Moderate acidity. The finish is smooth and imbued with vanilla delight. Potent, structured, and concise. Perfect for a highly savory meal. 8.5/10”
Mikayla says, “deep eggplant color, very decadent in appearance. Smells rich and peppery. Strong mouth feel that fills the mouth but isn’t too weighty. It’s very smooth and reminiscent of dark cherry, sweet moonshine, and warmth. Delightful, lovely, and easy to drink on its own or with a meal. 8/10"
