Lauren says, “Dark purple color. Aroma of blueberries and vanilla. Medium bodied. Mildly bitter (assuming oak) flavor I don’t love. I see why this is used as a blending wine normally. It might open up with time. Highly tannic. Drinkable but not my kind of wine. 5.5/10. Definitely decant this wine for 30-45 minutes. It makes it much better. Up to a 6 now but that’s the highest I would give it. More flavors of oregano and blackberry start to emerge.”

Zach says, “Plum red in the glass. The nose is rather muted, but not entirely unpleasant. There are notes of raspberry jam, mushroom, and rusty water fountain. Relatively acidic with a late flush of severe tannin. Medium bodied. Finish has late, but noticeable flare of vanilla bean. Something about the high alcohol finish screams “I AM CHEAP.” This wine does not excite me, but it does not horrify me either. This is not a wine to celebrate a special occasion. If you want to waddle home from work and drink a monochromatic wine, this is for you. A solid 5/10.”
