Vietti Barolo, 2017
Sometime in December,
Vietti Barolo, 2017
Lauren says, “Garnet in the glass. Aroma of cherry and dried raspberry. Medium bodied. Tannic with balanced acidity. Notes of earth and herbs like oregano and thyme. Tastes like a decent, old red wine. But I am not wowed. 7.5/10 but sadly not a special bottle. For the price, I would not buy again.”
Zach says, “Cherry red-orange in the glass. On the nose, this is classic, though unexpressive, for Borolo. I allowed it 5-6 hours to breathe. Nose with notes of eucalyptus, mint, and candied red fruit. Classic on the mouthfeel, which I do love. Highly acidic with perfectly matched tannin. Long lasting, sharp and sumptuous finish. I just love Borolo, so I am biased. Not the best I have had, but still unique and so much better than the usual shit. 8/10.”
