Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico Riserva, 2017.
Lauren says, “Ruby red. Aroma of vanilla, red fruit, and blackberries. Medium bodied. High acidity with balanced tannins. Flavor of mushroom soup and licorice. Good bottle. Crowd pleaser. Pretty basic but good. 8/10.”
Zach says, “Burnt orange/garnet in the glass. Nose is very Italian/Sangiovese. Notes of strawberry candy, licorice, nail polish remover, and wet moss. Whole mouth experience. Serious acidity and red fruit. I think this bottle is nice, but further proves that Chianti Classico is perfectly adequate and half the price of this reserva. A great food wine. Long lasting finish. Mod tannin. 7.8/10.”
