Belle Glos ‘Las Alturos’ Pinot Noir
December 25, 2021 (an old one we forgot to post)
Belle Glos ‘Las Alturos’ Pinot Noir.
Lauren says, “Garnet red in the glass. I remember liking this a lot, so it was disappointing to have it again. The aroma is nice but it does have a burning ethanol undertone hidden by floral notes. I also smell red cherry and oak. The flavor is overwhelmingly acidic and oaky. 6/10. It does open up as you drink it (in a good way). However, I still strongly prefer belle glos Eulenloch.”
Zach says, “Cherry, ruby red in the glass. At first, the nose is overwhelmingly oaky. It’s better with time — it opens up to sweet vanilla icing, buttered biscuit, cranberry leather, violets, and cedar. Medium bodied. Very acidic with a tart finish. Not my favorite thing. Way too much oak for me. 6.5/10.”
