Bodegas Izadi Rioja Reserva, 2018.
Lauren says, “Garnet. Aroma of cherry, black berries, and eucalyptus (or some sort of herb). Medium bodied. Balanced acidity and tannins. A lot of baking spice flavor. Fruitier than I expected. A hint of licorice. Decent and agreeable. Might need 30-60 minutes to decant. 7.5/10. Likely an 8 if you let it breathe.”
Zach says, “Rich garnet almost brown in the glass. Nose is heady and fruity. Notes of cassis, anise, rose, and tobacco. Full bodied. Quite tannic and acidic. Lingering red fruit finish with lasting dryness that complimented an air fried steak perfectly. A good go to inexpensive Spanish red for heavy foods. Lacking complexity and liveliness on the palate. 8/10.”
