Paolo Scavino Barolo
December 13, 2020 (an old one we forgot to post)
Paolo Scavino Barolo, 2015.
Lauren says, “Deep garnet color. Potent aroma of red cherries, raspberries, and anise. Flavor of baked cherry pie. Deep tannins balanced by acidity. A wonderful bottle. Smooth ending. 8.5/10.”
Zach says, “Cherry, rusty red in the glass. Nose is fragrant and fresh. Notes of cherry liquor, licorice, almond extract, furniture polish, and Gardenia/orange blossom. Very acidic. Less grippy/tannic than the average Barolo, but still with substance provided by a rich, cream-like mouthfeel. 8/10.”
