Talosa Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva

Talosa Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva, 2017.

Unfortunately, not a bottle you can buy in the states. A final, liquid reminder of out trip to Italy. This is a stunning example of Italian table wine. We purchased it for €20 at Le Volpi e l'Uva in Florence. A crowded, local wine bar with offerings from regional wineries handwritten on a chalkboard.

Zach says, “Garnet in the glass. Very balanced. Nose is fresh and inviting. This isn’t a wine you drink for complexity, but for presence, consistency, and food-friendliness. Nose is fruity, concise, and inviting. On the nose: cherry perfume, raspberry, cedar/pine, and beef bourguignon. Very acidic. Moderately dry. Give it 30-45 minutes  in a decanter. Finish is acidic and leaves me glancing longingly at the glass for another sip. 8/10.”

Lauren says, “Ruby red. Strong aroma of vanilla, cherry and black tea. High acidity and decent tannins. Medium bodied. Flavor of tart cranberry pie. A very good table wine. Definitely dry but has balance. Impressed for the price. 8/10.”
