Elena Fucci 'Titolo' Aglianico del Vulture, 2019.
Zach says, “Dark ruby/purple in the glass. Nose is potent. At first the nose is rich with notes of wet leaves, dried mint/herb, damp forest floor/soil. Then I get distilled cherry, almost perfume-like. Maybe some violets and milk chocolate in the mix as well. Complex. Highly tannic — tannins are integrated and work harmoniously with the abundant earthiness and red fruit flavors. Medium bodied. Medium acidity. Long finish. I find this complex and harmonious. I also love that this wine is from a lesser known region in Italy. Hopefully this is only the beginning of our journey into the Basilicata region and Aglianico grape. 9/10.”
Lauren says, “Dark reddish plum color. Aroma of baking spice, vanilla, eucalyptus, roses, and licorice. Medium to full body. High acidity. High tannins. Definitely dry. Flavor of black plums, boysenberries, and baking spices. Longggg tart finish. So dry, but I love it. My mouth is a desert (in a good way.) 9.5/10.
